Singapore will run tests on an app to replace parking coupons at selected public car parks in June and July. The app, they said, will raise convenience for motorists, obviating the need to return to their vehicles to replenish coupons to extend their parking. The app calculates the parking fees automatically, based on the length of time the car is parked on a per-minute basis. A refund will be given if motorists decide to leave the car park earlier. The app also allows motorists to monitor the validity of their parking session, and they may extend this at any time.
